All student computer users at Copenhagen International School should read and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The latest version is available at www.cisstudent.dk.

 Internet/Network/E-mail - Terms and Conditions of Use

1. Students are responsible for good behaviour on the school’s computer networks and e-mail accounts, just as they are in a classroom.

2. The network and e-mail accounts are provided for students to conduct research and communicate with others. Access is a privilege - not a right.

3. When using the computer, network and e-mail, users are expected to:

  1. Be polite.

  2. Use appropriate language.

  3. Keep their own and friends' personal information (such as name, age, addresses, telephone numbers, or location) confidential, except in school approved, protected situations.

  4. Forward personal communications from others only when they have the sender’s consent.

  5. Use the network or e-mail messages responsibly. They should not disrupt the use of the network by others or send annoying or unnecessary messages to a large number of people.

4. Students should only e-mail, post,, submit and publish correct information. (No lies!)

5. Students should not attempt to harm, alter, or destroy data of another user.

6. Students should not damage or alter computer systems or related hardware. This can include installing or removing software/hardware without authorisation. Students should not attempt to gain unauthorised access to computers, networks, e-mail accounts, files or data.

7. Users must comply with all copyright laws. Misuse and plagiarism is not okay!

8. Users should not give out passwords or use someone else’s password to log on to the network.

9. Student participation in non-teacher initiated blogs, wikis, social networks, games or other interactive electronic environments is prohibited.   School based networks (academic or social) are strictly for the use of members of the Copenhagen International School community. Students should not invite people from outside the school community to participate in these networks.
